J.R.R. Tolkien’s lifetime commitment to the project of ‘sub-creating’ Middle-Earth from an explicitly Christian worldview distinguishes his work from other fantasy writings.  In these lectures Dr. Sean McDonough considers Tolkien’s methods for biblical and theological reflection.  Are the arts and literature legitimate vehicles for conveying biblical truth?  If so, how can these media be used by pastors and teachers of biblical content?
