Description Speaker(s) Schedule/Workshops

How can a pastor rekindle a passion for Bible Study and biblical literacy in his/her congregation and rejuvenate their preaching in the process? Getting outside of our Western, 21st-century, urban, industrialized way of thinking and engaging the first-century, Middle Eastern, village, agrarian world of the Gospels may provide a pathway.  Using Luke as a platform, this multi media seminar will present tools, develop frameworks and demonstrate resources to encounter passages in their historical, geographical, literary, cultural and visual context. This integrated contextual approach to Scripture allows the original meaning of passages to come alive in transforming ways for the pulpit and pew as we fall in love with Jesus all over again.

Sessions include:
  • Introduction to Integrated Biblical Context
  • Contextual Frameworks and Tools
  • Encounters with Jesus: The Power of Context
  • Resources for Teaching/Preaching in Context
