How do you teach your congregation about how they are to discern God’s will for their lives? This seminar will outline the key evidences that the traditional view of guidance is flawed and that “The Way of Wisdom” has biblical support. Christians should not be looking for an elusive perfect will of God for every decision. Rather God has granted Scripture and His wisdom sufficient to please Him in every decision. The seminar will end with the freeing concept of “faithfulness” over “success” as the goal of every ministry.

How can a pastor rekindle a passion for Bible Study and biblical literacy in his/her congregation and rejuvenate their preaching in the process? Getting outside of our Western, 21st-century, urban, industrialized way of thinking and engaging the first-century, Middle Eastern, village, agrarian world of the Gospels may provide a pathway. Using Luke as a platform, this multi media seminar will present tools, develop frameworks and demonstrate resources to encounter passages in their historical, geographical, literary, cultural and visual context. This integrated contextual approach to Scripture allows the original meaning of passages to come alive in transforming ways for the pulpit and pew as we fall in love with Jesus all over again.
